Paul Hutchings background was in stills photography, and he started working in the audio-visual sector which in turn led to video and film lighting camerawork. From there, Paul developed an interest in editing which inspired to him to launch the first wholly Avid-based post-production facility, P3 Post. P3 pioneered the use of Avid for programme finishing and became an important beta site for Avid, helping to test Symphony systems and then the Unity shared storage products among others. Paul worked with GAS initially as a client, with GAS carrying out the system design, installation and cabling across several P3 sites. Subsequently, Paul started working with Simon to allow GAS to offer Avid sales and support, and used his shared storage experience to develop a reseller partnership with EditShare to offer shared storage, MAM and archive systems. Paul’s specialisms remain in Avid and Apple support, shared storage systems and developing and supporting collaborative workflows for clients.
